Day 3
OK so we end up devouring Captain D's fish combo and went and watch Cars 2, zookeeper, and My Amnesia Girl Starring Toni Gonzaga (Wow she is pretty).
Day 2
Another 2 hours later and we are invited again to hear the bad news in a low tone of voice telling us that the available flight was taken over by "Emergency Personnel" Emergency MY ASS. But again who knows they might have a real emergency and those 20 personnel is just willing to take on a weekend flight to go work. Reverse reverse...
Lunch at Shakeys Pizza eat all you can. hmmmm ever tasted a "squid pizza" and a fruit salad pizza, whew those are like 500 calories a bite......
Risner gym for an hour - should take out the calories from Shakeys hehehe.
Ciao see you tomorrow.
Day 1
Luggage are unloaded, cart is full, van is park properly in those long term parking space provided. Documents ready, moral as high as the mount Everest. So happy and excited. TV broadcast says they have 20 seats available going to US.
Check in to the counter and wallah!!!!! we are in for the wait of our lives. For 20 seats available I seen about 45 people ranging from kids to adults all the way to retirees.
I met several people I know. Weng, she is our Treasurer in our Fil-Am organization together with her husband Jim awaiting category 4 chance to get on board. Jim know with so many people and not enough seat available, he know his chances is slim but he has this tremendous optimism that I like, of all the families out there with category 2's if the space available left is not enough, that family is not going anywhere, this is where he's chance get bigger since he is alone.
AG2 Matulevich is out there too. she and daughter is awaiting patiently. 2 other retirees I recognize from church is out there awaiting since last week per what they told me.
After 2 hour of waiting, they announce for us to gather around, this time the front desk personnel did not use the microphone and in a minimal tone of voice, they told us that the flight was CANCELLED and that there are no more flight leaving today. WHAT THE F..k happen.....
take the chance to come here and pick up passengers, so they decided not to
fly anymore.... Fine..... Fine... will be back tomorrow. Pick up our paperwork and left the
terminal.,....,,,.
Well that's for the fist day so we decided to revisit Thai in the Sky. Their TOM YUM soup is kicking my ass, but it was a very delightful Thai cuisine and the boys love it too. Go back home and have a shot of Vodka, 1 part Vodka + 10 part orange juice and we have a very nice night.... dot dot dot lol.
Vacation 2011
Yes, finally we can start our vacation, simple preparation was put in to this vacation, that is to minimize spending. This is the much awaited one due to me not having a school/course this month.
OK the plan is to have a chance taking the "Space A" program. This program give oppurtunity to service member active, retirees, and dependents to get a flight free of charge.
There's several rules in this program. You must be on leave and must be in one of the 6 categories. Here's the categories;
Category I:
Emergency travel on a round-trip basis in connection with serious illness, death, or impending death of a member of the immediate family of the following:
United States citizen civilian employees of the DoD stationed overseas.
Full-time, paid personnel of the American Red Cross serving with United States military services overseas.
Uniformed service family members whose sponsors are stationed within the Continental United States (CONUS) and the emergency exists overseas.
Family members of United States citizen civilian employees of the DoD when both sponsor and dependents are stationed overseas at the same location.
Category II:
Sponsors on environmental and morale leave (EML) and accompanied family members.
DoD Dependent School (DoDDS) teachers and their accompanied family members in EML status during school year holiday or vacation periods.
Category III:
Members of the uniformed services in an ordinary or re-enlistment leave status and uniformed services patients on convalescent leave. Members on convalescent leave may not travel overseas unless their leave form is so annotated.
Military personnel traveling on permissive temporary duty (TDY) orders for house hunting.
If the permissive TDY is for the purpose of permanent change of station house hunting, the member travels in Category III and can be accompanied by one family member.
Dependents of military members deployed for more than 365 consecutive days.
Bona fide family members (up to age 23 with a valid identification card) of a service member of the uniformed services when accompanied by their sponsor who is in an ordinary leave status within overseas areas between overseas stations and air terminals in the CONUS.
This privilege does not apply to travel of dependents to or from a sponsor's restricted or unaccompanied tour location or to travel in a leave status to or from TDY locations. It applies only to round-trip travel to an overseas area or the CONUS with the sponsor. DoD 4515.13-R restricts use of these privileges to establish a home for family members in an overseas area or the CONUS.
Foreign exchange service members on permanent duty with the DoD, when in a leave status.
Category IV:
Dependents of military members deployed for more than 120 consecutive days.
Unaccompanied family members (18 years or older) traveling on EML orders. Family members under 18 must be accompanied by an adult family member who is traveling EML.
